AaOne Group – a company started with a vision that we would never have to market ourselves. We will build our name on word-of-mouth marketing. This simply meant that our strategy, our goals, our execution would have to mean one thing and one thing alone, we will put our clients first, above all else. We will be doing business around them and doing what is important to them.
Almost a decade ago, when I ventured into the business world, all I had was a professional degree in Nautical Sciences, and over a decade of international exposure in the shipping industry as an experienced Master Mariner. What that experience taught me was the importance of an outcome-focused execution of a project, while ensuring optimal resource utilisation. My Merchant Navy days taught me to handle the most difficult situations and take crucial decisions within imposed time constraints.
I am asked often, what made me choose this industry, I could have done something else. May be! But, when my own house was being built, I realised that real estate as a sector is not streamlined. And that was the least of it. The system lacked professionalism and was trust deficient. And I think that was what I wanted to change!
I wanted to build a company that would differentiate in the market and redefine the industry. I wanted to build an ecosystem where we would deploy best practices and synergies across projects that prioritise client experience. Today, we operate in a world where a client has more choices than ever before. AaOne was started with the belief that if we could understand a client’s journey and the moments that matter, and translate that in a way to enable their vision, we would automatically be able to build a company with a record of excellence, and keep us at the forefront of a client’s mind.
Till date, I like to personally visit each project site on a regular basis. Quality is not just a word; it is an imperative. AaOne stand to deliver what is committed. Elegant aesthetics, minimal environmental footprint and a proactive end-to-end experience are what we follow every time, all the time, through the entire process from design to execution to its final delivery.
It was also important that as a team we work towards the successful delivery of desired outcomes. Irrespective of who the client dealt with; the approach would be cohesive. As a company, we also want to foster a learning culture for everyone at every level, because whichever project we undertake, big or small, residential or commercial, it has to be centred around and motivated by the same consistent vision, backed by strong traditional values and a future driven innovative outlook.
As we grow, I am happy to say that we have been able to successfully embed this vision into the company’s DNA.
